What Does the Fox Say?

Did you ever wonder what the fox say? I mean, we all know what dogs and cats and cows say (even if there seems to be some national differences) but what does a fox say?

This is the question Norwegian comedy duo Ylvis are asking us all in this funny video:

I know they have me wondering now.

Ylvis

Ylvis are the two brothers from Bergen, Norway, Bård Ylvisåker and Vegard Ylvisåker, and they have a show on Norwegian television. They aren`t always very funny (I must admit that I usually catch the funnier bits on YouTube as I can`t be bothered to watch the whole show) but because of their musical talent, their music videos are usually hilarious. They make fun of everything from dubstep to Scandinavian “dansband” music.

Here are a couple of their songs:

Stonehenge (notice the bad rhymes!)

Haven`t you seen videos like Stonehenge just a few times too many?

Someone like me

And now I`m reminded of how much I dislike dubstep.

Work it

I just love the details about vaginas 🙂

La det på is

This one is in Norwegian but makes fun of Norwegian rap which always uses a lot of American curse words

You might not understand the words but they really nailed Norwegian rap. The lyrics are about how hard it is to be a comedian and how many jokes they have to throw away.

KJempeform

The last one is also in Norwegian and makes fun of the Scandinavian musical form “dansband” – a really ugly kind of music.

Just like they nailed Norwegian rap, they also made a true copy of dansband music. The annoying smiles, the suits, the silly winks.

Elevator pranks

Ylvis have also made quite a few pranks/hidden cameras. I`m usually not a fan of hidden camera but I did enjoy the elevator prank where they pretended to be “the talking elevator” at a hotel. Yes, it`s entirely silly and probably incredibly annoying too, at least for the people who just wanted to go to their hotel room and relax. But I love the fantasy behind this prank (and am thrilled I was never in that elevator).

Very good article thyra10 !! Love it.
See, my only problem with Scandinavians is point 1. Always hated this damn Hollywood style romantic rituals they throw in movies, specially since I moved to London, where it seems impossible to find a normal guy (i.e. what you describe above).
I’ve managed well in Iceland but now can’t get over my crush cause it’s nearly impossible to find that kind of guys around. Almost everyone expects you to follow a thousand of silly dating rules which make the whole thing incredibly boring and tiring and it doesn’t even lead to some private fun if you get my meaning…
Anyway, glad to confirm where I need to look to find normal guys 😉
